Athletic Club striker Carlinhos suffers serious head injury

Athletic Club striker Carlinhos, currently on loan from Flamengo, sustained a serious head injury during a Serie B match against Juventude. The incident occurred in the first half of the game when Carlinhos collided mid-air with Juventude defender Gabriel Pinheiro.

Following the collision, the concussion protocol was activated, and the player was transported from the field via ambulance. Medical examinations have confirmed a traumatic brain injury and facial fractures. Athletic Club issued a statement noting that while the injury is serious, the player is conscious, out of immediate danger, and does not require surgery at this time. Carlinhos remains in Caxias do Sul for medical monitoring.
