Athletic events held in Arma di Taggia and Carso region

Various athletic events are taking place in Italy, focusing on both charity and competitive trail running. In Arma di Taggia, the association ‘Gli Amici di Colombo’ is organizing the second edition of ‘Rise & Run’ on September 12. This non-competitive event aims to support mental health initiatives, with proceeds benefiting the Sanremo Day Center, Me. Lab in Arma di Taggia, and the ‘Vento di ponente – Cambio di rotta’ project.

The event offers three different routes of 21 km, 10 km, and 5 km to accommodate different fitness levels and includes provisions for participants with disabilities.

Separately, the Sardon Run 2026 has drawn 1,700 trail runners from over 30 countries to the Carso region. Organized by ASD SentieroUNO, the event features multiple distances, ranging from the 49 km Sardon Ultra to the 7 km Sardonzin. The routes traverse historical landscapes including Monte Ermada and the Timavo river mouth, concluding with local culinary traditions.
