Athletico and Coritiba draw 3-3 in rain-affected Brasileirão match

Athletico and Coritiba played to a 3-3 draw at the Couto Pereira stadium during the 27th round of the Brasileirão. The match was played under heavy rain on a waterlogged pitch, causing an eight-minute delay.

Athletico initially took a lead through goals from Luiz Gustavo and Arthur Dias. During the first half, Breno Lopes was sent off following the application of the ‘Vini Jr. Protocol’ after covering his mouth while speaking to a teammate. Athletico extended their lead to 3-1 via a Viveiros penalty, but Coritiba staged a late comeback. Rodrigo Moledo scored twice in the closing minutes, including a header in the 51st minute of stoppage time, to secure the draw.

Prior to the match, Athletico held third place in the standings with 45 points, while Coritiba sat in seventh with 37 points.
