Athletico Paranaense nears renewal for striker Kevin Viveros

Athletico Paranaense is finalizing details to renew the contract of Colombian striker Kevin Viveros. Viveros, who currently leads the Brasileirão scoring charts with 17 goals, is expected to remain with the club through at least the end of the current season. The club has previously rejected several offers from domestic and international teams, some exceeding 18 million euros.

Meanwhile, high-profile signing Jorge Rivaldo continues to face limited playing time. Despite a transfer fee of approximately 17.5 million reais (US$ 3.5 million) for 80% of his economic rights, the Colombian attacker has primarily been used as a late-game substitute in recent matches against teams such as Corinthians, Vitória, Red Bull Bragantino, and Fluminense. Manager Odair Hellmann has noted that Rivaldo requires more time to adapt to his first experience playing outside of Colombian football, especially given Viveros's dominant form.
