Athletico-PR advances construction of retractable grandstand at Arena da Baixada

Athletico Paranaense has announced significant progress in the construction of a new retractable grandstand at Arena da Baixada in Curitiba. The club recently completed the concreting of the structural beams, a phase that utilized 90 cubic meters of concrete and 10 tons of steel.

The project is entering its final civil works stage, with preparations for the structural floor concreting expected to take place over the next two weeks. This infrastructure is considered unprecedented in Brazilian football and is designed to increase the stadium's versatility.

Developed in partnership with the event production company 30e, the retractable structure aims to facilitate large-scale shows and events without conflicting with the football calendar. The design allows concert stages to be positioned outside the pitch, preserving the playing surface and potentially increasing event attendance by approximately 20%.
