Athletics competitions scheduled for Lignano and Brescia

Major athletics events are scheduled to take place in Italy during late August 2026.

In Lignano, the “Fly on the beach” pole vault competition will be held on Saturday, August 29, at Piazza D’Olivo. The event features 58 specialists across various categories, with a top-tier session in the evening. Italian national athlete Virginia Scardanzan is set to headline the competition, facing international competitors such as Maria Gherca and Kristina Tergau.

In Brescia, the Banca Valsabbina Grand Prix will take place on Sunday, August 30, at the Gabre Gabric stadium in Sanpolino. The event will showcase elite international talent in throwing disciplines. The shot put competition will feature world-ranked athletes including Leonardo Fabbri, Joe Kovacs, and Rajindra Campbell. The hammer throw will include Bence Halásze and Italian record holder Sara Fantini. Other notable participants include Pawel Fajdek and Mykhailo Kokhan.
