Athletics Federation of India releases book on historic Kohima AGM

A coffee table book documenting the Athletics Federation of India (AFI) Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Kohima, Nagaland, was released at the AFI Headquarters in New Delhi on September 21. The publication commemorates the June 2026 meeting, which was the first time a national sports federation held its AGM in Nagaland.

Dr. Lalit K. Bhanot, President of the South Asian Athletics Federation, released the book and praised Nagaland Athletics, led by Abu Metha, for organizing the event. The AGM resulted in the adoption of the Kohima Declaration, an initiative aimed at modernizing Indian athletics and strengthening institutional cooperation and development.

Abu Metha, Vice President of the AFI and Advisor to the Chief Minister of Nagaland, noted that the successful hosting demonstrated the state's capacity to manage national-level sporting events and institutional engagements.
