Athletics: Saavedra shines in Argentina as Pérez takes second in Diamond League

In recent athletics competitions, Argentine long jumper Martín Saavedra delivered a strong performance at the ‘Aldo Cangiani’ tournament held at Cenard. Saavedra recorded a jump of 7.51 meters, following his recent national record of 7.82 meters. Other notable winners at the event included Mauro Adrián Núñez in the 100 meters and Federico Gaddi in the 400 meters.

In the Diamond League held in Brussels, Cuban triple jumper Leyanis Pérez secured second place with a mark of 14.82 meters. She finished behind Senegal’s Saly Sarr, who led the competition with a jump of 14.95 meters. While Pérez lost her previous Diamond League titles, the result maintains her position among the world's elite athletes.
