Athletics stars set multiple records at Chorzów meeting

A major athletics meeting held at the Silesian Stadium in Chorzów, Poland, drew over 38,000 spectators and featured numerous record-breaking performances. Mykolas Alekna set a Diamond League record in discus throw with a result of 72.58.

Seven meeting records were established during the two-day event, including Oblique Seville in the 100m (9.83), Busang Kebinatshipi in the 400m (43.59), and Gemechu Godana in the 3000m steeplechase (8:02.74). Other record holders included Alyssa Jones, Agate de Sousa, Yaroslava Mahuchikh, and Chase Jackson.

National records were also broken by Ruben Querinjean (Luxembourg, 3000m steeplechase), Klaudia Kazimierska (Poland, 1500m), and Saly Sarr (Senegal, triple jump). Notably, in the men's 100m final, all nine sprinters finished with times under ten seconds for the first time in history.
