Athlone Town and Shelbourne face off in Women's FAI Cup final

Athlone Town and Shelbourne are set to face each other in the Women's FAI Cup final at Tallaght Stadium. Athlone Town, the recent league champions, aims to retain their title, while Shelbourne seeks to disrupt their rivals' success.

Athlone Town captain Hannah Waesch, originally from Texas, expressed her appreciation for the welcoming nature of the Irish people as she prepares to lead her team. Meanwhile, Shelbourne's veteran captain Pearl Slattery, making her tenth cup final appearance, will lead a squad that includes 21-year-old centre-back Nia Hannon. Hannon carries a family connection to the club, as her mother, Cora, previously played for Shelbourne.
