Atiba University faces 10-year ban on law programme

The Council of Legal Education (CLE) has imposed a 10-year moratorium on the law programme at Atiba University in Oyo state. The decision follows findings that the institution’s facilities were “inappropriate and inadequate” for operating a faculty of law. Additionally, the CLE noted that the university violated admission policies by admitting and graduating students without the necessary regulatory approvals.

In response, Atiba University Vice-Chancellor Sunday Okeniyi announced that the institution will support affected students. The university plans to assist students in securing admissions at other universities, refunding tuition fees, or providing academic transcripts to facilitate transfers.
