Brazil's 2026 Coat Drive Campaign Mobilizes Winter Donations

The municipal governments of Atibaia, Limeira, Palmeira dos Índios and Curitiba have launched local phases of the "Campanha do Agasalho 2026" to collect winter clothing, blankets and shoes for families in vulnerability. Atibaia centralised donations at dozens of public sites across the city, urging residents to bring clean, usable items. Limeira opened volunteer registrations to sort and organise the collected goods before distribution through social assistance centres. Palmeira dos Índios began the campaign with the slogan “Aqueça vidas, transforme o inverno,” setting up drop‑off points at the municipal social assistance office and the city hall. Curitiba introduced a drive‑through collection point in the Bairro Novo neighbourhood, allowing donors to leave items from their vehicles between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on 27 June. All initiatives run from May to September, aim to protect the most vulnerable from the cold, and rely on community participation and local business support.
