Atibaia implements special transport program for 2026 voters
The Atibaia City Hall and the Electoral Justice system have partnered to implement the ‘Seu Voto Importa’ program to facilitate voting in the 2026 elections. The initiative provides free, specialized, and adapted door-to-door transportation for voters with disabilities or reduced mobility who lack their own means of transport or cannot use standard public transit.
Under the program, approved voters may also be accompanied by one person if deemed indispensable for exercising their right to vote. The service is also extended to indigenous populations, quilombola communities, and other traditional communities, including transport that may cross municipal boundaries for these groups. For rural voters, service is provided within the municipality if the distance to the polling station is at least two kilometers.
Requests can be made via the TRE-SP website or in person at the Atibaia Electoral Registry. For the first round of voting, the deadline for requests is September 14. For a potential second round, requests must be submitted by October 5. Approvals will be communicated via email up to 48 hours before the election.
