Atibaia Mayor halts approval of new high-rise building projects

The administration of Mayor Daniel Martini in Atibaia has halted the approval of several large-scale high-rise building projects. This move follows changes to the city's Urbanism Code, which introduced stricter regulations regarding building heights and designated construction zones.

Mayor Martini stated that some previously approved projects were blocked because the developers failed to begin construction within the legally stipulated timeframe, causing their construction rights to expire. The administration aims to manage the city's growth and protect natural landmarks, such as Pedra Grande, from being obscured by verticalization.
