Atiku Abubakar dismisses Buhari ties, blames Tinubu over alleged fake PFIPC agency

Atiku Abubakar, the African Democratic Congress’s 2027 presidential candidate, rejected claims that the alleged fake agency, the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC), was created by former President Muhammadu Buhari. He said, “What Buhari created in September 2019 was the Presidential Economic Advisory Council, PEAC, which was chaired by Dr Doyin Salami.”

Atiku’s media aide, Paul Ibe, characterized PFIPC as “a manifestation of Tinubu’s ‘tiwa tiwa’ government,” accusing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of incompetence and urging an end to the search for scapegoats. The statements came amid a national debate over the agency’s existence and alleged involvement of senior officials across ministries, the Central Bank, the National Assembly and security agencies.
