Atiqa Date Season launches fifth edition in Riyadh

The fifth edition of the Atiqa Date Season has launched at the Atiqa Central Market in Riyadh. Sponsored by the Mayor of Riyadh, the event is scheduled to run until November 30, 2026, covering various date harvesting periods across the Kingdom.

The season aims to support the development of the palm and date sector in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030 by allowing farmers to sell directly to consumers. The event attracts producers, traders, and visitors from across Saudi Arabia and the Gulf Cooperation Council.

Saudi Arabia is a major global producer, yielding approximately 1.6 million tons of dates annually from over 36 million palm trees, with exports reaching more than 100 countries. The previous edition in 2025 reported significant financial success, selling over 20 million packages valued at more than 262 million Saudi riyals.

Organized by the Riyadh Development Company, this edition includes expanded spaces for farmers and artisans to boost the local date economy and enrich the visitor experience.
