Atizapán authorities search for large reptile in Lomas Lindas

Authorities in the Lomas Lindas neighborhood of Atizapán de Zaragoza, State of Mexico, have launched an emergency operation to locate a large reptile reported by residents. As a preventive measure, five homes were evacuated following sightings of the animal near the intersection of Mar de Creta, Mar Tirreno, and Mar de Jade streets.

Emergency services, including Civil Protection, firefighters, and environmental personnel, are conducting search operations. While residents have speculated the animal could be an anaconda, boa, or python, officials have not yet confirmed the specific species. There is unconfirmed speculation that the reptile may belong to a local resident.

Specialists from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) may assist in the safe capture of the specimen. Authorities have urged the public to remain calm, avoid approaching the animal, and report sightings via 911 or designated local emergency numbers.
