Atizapán implements gender violence training and sexual diversity proposals

In Atizapán, Mexico, municipal authorities and youth representatives are advancing social and security initiatives. Mayor Pedro Rodríguez Villegas announced that 110 police officers have received C0539 certification, specializing in the first-contact assistance of women victims of gender violence. These trained agents are deployed across 21 municipal sectors to provide direct support at Police Care Centers.

Simultaneously, a proposal has been presented to create a Sexual Diversity Care Module. Presented by Juan Jesús Sánchez Aguilar during Youth Week, the project aims to protect the human rights of the LGBTI community. The proposal highlights that approximately 26,707 residents in Atizapán identify as part of the LGBTI community and face structural disadvantages in health, legal, and economic sectors. The module would serve as a referral center providing mental health support, legal services, and social accompaniment.
