Atizapán Mayor Allocates 52 Million Pesos to 17,040 Student Scholarships

Mayor Pedro Rodríguez Villegas of Atizapán de Zaragoza announced the distribution of over 52 million pesos to 17,040 students under the Municipal Scholarships program for 2026. The one‑time payments aim to support pupils from basic, medium‑high and higher education who meet criteria of economic vulnerability, academic excellence or disability.

The mayor highlighted the historic size of the municipal investment, emphasizing transparent resource management and the goal of strengthening families and encouraging continued schooling. Honorary president of the municipal DIF system, Paty Arévalo, noted that the number of scholarships has increased compared with the previous year to better address community needs.
