Atizapán seeks to boost finances through construction regularization

The municipal administration of Atizapán is analyzing the regularization of constructions across various neighborhoods to strengthen local finances through increased property tax collection. Mayor Pedro Rodríguez Villegas reported that efforts are currently focused on the Bellavista area, where legal disputes previously prevented property owners from formalizing their status.

Following a judicial ruling that resolved a territorial dispute, residents can now proceed with regularization. This process is being coordinated with agencies such as the Instituto Nacional del Suelo Sustentable (Insus) and the Comisión para la Regularización de la Tenencia de la Tierra (Corett) to ensure legal certainty. While the process involves fines for unregistered construction areas, officials noted it provides a pathway for taxpayers to become compliant.
