Atlanta Braves adjust roster and lineup amid divisional race
The Atlanta Braves are restructuring their roster and lineup as they fight to maintain their lead in the National League East. The team has decided to send rookie shortstop Jim Jarvis to Triple-A, opting instead to utilize Mauricio Dubón as the starting shortstop. Dubón has seen significant success recently, posting a monthly batting average of .323.
This move shifts Ha-Seong Kim into a backup infield role, increasing his chances of being included in the postseason roster. Kim, who signed a $20 million one-year contract with the team, had previously been viewed as a primary shortstop option.
In preparation for the Little League Classic against the Milwaukee Brewers, manager Walt Weiss is also adjusting the batting order. Michael Harris II, who has consistently batted fourth or fifth in recent months, will move to the leadoff spot for the series finale.
