Atlanta Braves place Martín Pérez on injured list

The Atlanta Braves have placed left-hander Martín Pérez on the injured list due to lower back inflammation. Manager Walt Weiss reported that Pérez felt the discomfort during his recent outing against the Houston Astros.

Pérez is expected to be sidelined for at least two weeks, with a potential return date as early as October 8. This timeline suggests he may miss the early stages of the postseason, potentially becoming available for the National League Division Series Game 5 or the National League Championship Series.

During the current season, Pérez has recorded a 3.04 ERA and 102 strikeouts over 142 innings. His injury presents a challenge for the Braves' postseason rotation planning, as he was considered a reliable starter and reliever.
