Atlanta Braves place star outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. on injured list
The Atlanta Braves placed outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr. on the 10‑day injured list on Wednesday after he left Tuesday’s game against the Chicago White Sox with hamstring tightness. An MRI confirmed a left hamstring strain. Acuña, the 2018 National League Rookie of the Year, 2023 NL MVP and a five‑time All‑Star, was hitting .251 with seven home runs and 22 RBIs in 53 games at the time of the injury. In roster moves, Atlanta selected first‑base prospect Rowdy Tellez from Triple‑A Gwinnett, designated right‑hander Jhancarlos Lara for assignment, added reliever James Karinchak, recalled pitcher JR Ritchie, designated veteran Carlos Carrasco, and placed right‑hander Tyler Kinley on the 15‑day injured list.
