Angel Reese Injured as Atlanta Dream Defeats Chicago Sky

Atlanta Dream forward Angel Reese left the game early in the fourth quarter after rolling her left ankle on a layup attempt. The injury forced her to exit the 93‑91 victory over the Chicago Sky, and she did not return for the remainder of the match. Coach Karl Smesko said Reese appeared to be in significant pain and he was uncomfortable keeping her in the game.

Reese, a two‑time All‑Star, had been averaging a career‑best 15.7 points and a league‑leading 11.8 rebounds per game before the injury. The Dream had previously traded her from Chicago for two first‑round picks. The win kept Atlanta atop the Eastern Conference, while Chicago dealt with additional roster setbacks, including Skylar Diggins (right knee) and Rickea Jackson (torn ACL).
