Atlanta Falcons lock up Bijan Robinson with record $75M extension

The Atlanta Falcons have signed running back Bijan Robinson to a three‑year contract extension worth up to $75 million, including $51 million guaranteed and a $37 million signing bonus. The deal makes Robinson the highest‑paid running back in NFL history, with an average annual salary of about $22.25 million. Robinson, the No. 8 overall pick in the 2023 draft, posted 2,298 scrimmage yards and 11 touchdowns in the 2025 season, leading the league, and has career totals of 3,910 rushing yards, 1,738 receiving yards and 34 touchdowns in 51 games.

The extension ends a week‑long hold‑in status during training camp and secures Robinson through the 2030 season under new head coach Kevin Stefanski and offensive coordinator Tommy Rees. Atlanta also extended key offensive players in the same offseason – wide receiver Drake London, tight end Kyle Pitts and left guard Matthew Bergeron – as part of a broader effort to lock up its core talent.

Robinson’s record contract is expected to influence the running‑back market league‑wide, prompting other teams to reassess valuations for top backs.
