Atlanta Falcons receiving interest in Colts wide receiver Josh Downs

Former Atlanta Falcons quarterback Kurt Benkert has suggested that Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Josh Downs would be a ‘great addition’ to the Falcons' receiving corps. The suggestion comes as the NFL trade deadline approaches and reports indicate that several wide receiver-needy teams have contacted the Colts regarding Downs.

Downs has recorded 26 receptions for 307 yards through seven games this season. His most productive season occurred in 2024, when he recorded 72 receptions for 803 yards and five touchdowns.

The Colts, currently holding a 2-5 record, have recently been active in the trade market, moving guard Quenton Nelson to the Seattle Seahawks and defensive tackle DeForest Buckner to the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for draft capital.
