Atlanta Falcons sign Andy Dalton, release Cooper Rush

The Atlanta Falcons have signed veteran quarterback Andy Dalton, replacing Cooper Rush on the roster. Dalton joins the team following his release from the Philadelphia Eagles on October 9.

Dalton reportedly declined an offer to return to the Eagles, who sought his services after Jalen Hurts was placed on injured reserve. The 39-year-old Dalton has appeared in 180 career games and holds significant passing records from his time with the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Falcons' move comes amid ongoing injury concerns at the quarterback position. The team has utilized four different quarterbacks this season due to injuries to Michael Penix Jr. and Tua Tagovailoa. Dalton is expected to serve as the third quarterback on the depth chart.
