Atlanta Falcons sign left guard Matthew Bergeron to four-year extension

The Atlanta Falcons announced a four‑year contract extension with left guard Matthew Bergeron that will keep him with the team through the 2030 season. Media reports estimate the deal is worth about $96 million, including $60 million fully guaranteed. Bergeron, a 26‑year‑old native of Montreal who played college football at Syracuse, was selected by the Falcons in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft and has started 49 of 51 possible games. General manager Ian Cunningham said Bergeron is “the type of player you build around” and highlighted his toughness, consistency and leadership as cornerstones of the offensive line.
