Atlanta Falcons sign veteran running back Trey Sermon

The Atlanta Falcons have signed veteran running back Trey Sermon to bolster their roster ahead of their preseason opener this Friday. Sermon, a former third-round pick out of Ohio State, joins the team following a stint with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Sermon will compete for a role in a backfield headlined by Bijan Robinson. He joins a group that includes Brian Robinson Jr., Tyler Goodson, Nathan Carter, and Cash Jones. Over his professional career, Sermon has recorded 505 rushing yards and three touchdowns across 46 contests.

In addition to the Falcons' move, several other NFL teams conducted roster transactions on Monday, including the Chicago Bears signing wide receiver Ray-Ray McCloud and the Philadelphia Eagles making multiple signings and placing players on injured reserve.
