Atlanta metro area restaurant and dining updates

The metro Atlanta and North Georgia dining scene is seeing several new developments and upcoming events. In Midtown, the Indian fine dining restaurant Pataaka is scheduled to open at the Spring Quarter development on August 22. Additionally, the Chicago-based sandwich chain Potbelly is expanding into the metro area, with a location opening in Chamblee on September 1 and another in Cumming later this fall. The Los Angeles-based breakfast spot Eggslut is also expected to open a location on the Beltline this fall.

Other regional updates include Henri’s Bakery expanding to Athens and Common Coffee & Cocktails planning a second location in Duluth. In the food service sector, Huddle House is offering a buy-one-get-one-free deal for National Waffle Day on August 24, and Raising Cane’s will host a charity initiative starting August 27, where proceeds from limited-edition plush puppy sales will benefit local animal organizations such as the Gwinnett Humane Society.

Local events include a Brunch Crawl in downtown Lawrenceville on August 22, featuring multiple restaurants, and a Food Truck Friday in Fairburn on August 28.
