Atlanta police arrest man for July triple shooting

Atlanta police have arrested 27-year-old Breon Thomas in connection with a triple shooting that occurred on July 5, 2026. The incident took place in the 500 block of Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard NW in the Bankhead neighborhood.

During the July shooting, three individuals sustained injuries to their abdomen, hand, thigh, and calf. Thomas was taken into custody on September 9 following the execution of a search warrant on Nelms Drive SW. He faces charges of three counts of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. Authorities have not yet released a motive or specified the relationship between the suspect and the victims.
