Atlanta Rapper 21 Savage’s Family Mourns Teen Nephew Who Died After Shooting Sister
Seven Shirley, a 14‑year‑old from Stockbridge, Georgia who was described by his family as a nephew of rapper 21 Savage, accidentally shot his 12‑year‑old sister Lyric in the neck. Lyric was taken to hospital and has undergone three surgeries on her neck and vocal cords.
Following the shooting, Seven turned the gun on himself and died by suicide. His grandmother, Sharon Smith, said he feared jail and expressed deep regret. She called for action against the person who sold the gun, warning that the tragedy could have been avoided.
Rapper 21 Savage posted a tribute to Seven on Instagram Stories, writing “Remember when you was a baby” with broken‑heart emojis, and the family issued a statement requesting privacy and prayers for Lyric’s recovery while urging stricter gun‑control measures.
