Atlante della musica in Italia book release explores Italian musical history

The book ‘Atlante della musica in Italia. Luoghi, storie e percorsi per viaggi musicali’ is scheduled for release on November 13 through Ulrico Hoepli Editore. Curated by journalist and radio host Luca De Gennaro, the work serves as a musical guide to the history of Italian song over the last 60 years.

The volume explores the country from North to South, connecting musical history to specific locations. It covers diverse scenes, including the rock and alternative venues of Milan, the underground culture of Naples, the historic clubs of Turin, and the musical legacies of Rome. The book functions as a blend of travelogue, tourist guide, and historical essay.

Readers can follow guided itineraries that include specific addresses for physical or virtual exploration, supported by color iconography and a curated playlist of dozens of tracks. De Gennaro collaborated with eight music journalists to provide regional expertise for the project.
