Atlante uses AI to reunite Miguel Herrera and Christian Martinoli

The Mexican football club Atlante has gone viral after releasing a creative video using artificial intelligence to reunite two figures with a historically complicated relationship: coach Miguel ‘Piojo’ Herrera and commentator Christian Martinoli.

Following the ‘Hotel Lobby’ social media trend, the digital recreation depicts the two men singing together in a stylized orange booth. The video references a well-known 2015 incident involving an altercation between Herrera and Martinoli at an airport while Herrera was managing the Mexican National Team.

Atlante, known as ‘Los Potros de Hierro’, shared the content to highlight their connection to Azteca Deportes, which broadcasts their home matches. The club described the video as ‘the crossover that everyone wanted to see.’
