Atlantic Airways to launch direct flights from Milan to Faroe Islands
Atlantic Airways will launch a new seasonal direct flight route between Milan Malpensa and Vágar, starting June 2. The service will operate every Wednesday through September 1, aimed at connecting the Italian market to the Faroe Islands.
Guðrið Højgaard, CEO of Visit Faroe Islands, noted a growing interest from Italian travelers, following a trend of increased arrivals from North America and Asia. The archipelago, an autonomous territory within the Kingdom of Denmark, is positioned as a destination for travelers seeking unique nature, outdoor activities, and authentic cultural experiences away from mass tourism.
The Faroe Islands consist of 18 volcanic islands located in the North Atlantic between Iceland and Norway. The region is characterized by its rugged landscapes, including fjords, vertical cliffs, and traditional villages with grass-roofed houses.
