Atlantic City boardwalk crash leads to arrest of New York man

A 50-year-old man from the Bronx, New York, was taken into custody after driving a vehicle onto the Atlantic City boardwalk. The incident occurred at approximately 12:55 p.m. on Friday, October 16, 2026, near Belmont Avenue.

The vehicle crashed through the boardwalk railing and landed on the beach within the dunes. The driver, identified as Abuu Konneh, faces eight different charges, including driving under the influence (DUI), reckless driving, careless driving, driving an unregistered vehicle, and driving with a suspended registration. Additional charges include refusal to submit to a breath test, leaving the scene of an accident, and failure to report an accident.
