Atlantic City teen charged with manslaughter in fatal Mays Landing crash

A 16-year-old from Atlantic City has been charged with three counts of first-degree aggravated manslaughter and one count of second-degree leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident resulting in death. The charges are linked to a fatal head-on collision that occurred on August 22 in Mays Landing, New Jersey.

The crash involved a stolen Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon that veered into oncoming traffic, striking a sedan. The collision killed two residents of Egg Harbor Township, identified as 54-year-old Robert Barr, Jr. and 67-year-old Alice Stilwell.

Investigators linked the teenager, identified by the initials J. D., to the vehicle using forensic evidence. DNA samples found on the steering-wheel airbag, driver-side curtain airbag, and front windshield, along with latent fingerprints on the steering wheel, supported the charges.

In addition to the juvenile, 18-year-old Nayshaun Brown of Atlantic City has been charged with motor vehicle theft and employing a juvenile in the commission of a crime. Three other individuals have also been arrested in connection with the incident on charges including assault, joyriding, and evading arrest.
