Atlantic County man sentenced to 30 years without parole for murder of pregnant girlfriend
Boris Lainez‑Rosales, a 28‑year‑old resident of Pleasantville, New Jersey, pleaded guilty to first‑degree murder of his 25‑year‑old girlfriend, Leslianette Quintana‑Betancourt, who was five months pregnant. Prosecutors said Lainez‑Rosales attacked her with a baseball bat in December 2024, causing severe facial, arm and abdominal injuries and rupturing the placenta. He called 911 claiming she had fallen down a flight of stairs, but investigators found blood‑stained evidence, a bloodied bat, and signs of attempted cleanup that contradicted his account.
Atlantic County Superior Court Judge Joseph A. Levin sentenced Lainez‑Rosales on Friday to 30 years in state prison without the possibility of parole. The sentencing follows a guilty plea entered in May and reflects the brutality of the crime and the victim’s pregnancy.
