Atlantic SEE LNG Trade secures long-term US gas supply

The strategic positioning of Atlantic SEE LNG Trade, a joint venture between AKTOR Group (60%) and DEPA Emporias (40%), has been reinforced by recent developments in the global liquefied natural gas (LNG) market. In November, the company signed a long-term agreement with the American exporter Venture Global to supply at least 1 million metric tons per annum (MTPA) of US LNG over a 20-year period, with deliveries scheduled to begin in 2030.

The significance of this agreement is highlighted by Venture Global’s recent announcement of a similar 20-year contract with ConocoPhillips. Under that deal, ConocoPhillips will receive 1 MTPA of LNG starting in 2030. The involvement of a major global energy player like ConocoPhillips underscores a growing international trend where large energy groups are securing long-term volumes to mitigate risks associated with spot market volatility and potential future supply shortages.
