Atlas Energy Solutions secures $613.5M in AI data center power contracts
Atlas Energy Solutions has entered into two cost reimbursement agreements with an unnamed frontier artificial intelligence lab to support data center projects. The deals, valued at approximately $613.5 million, involve providing critical infrastructure and power generation equipment.
The first agreement covers balance-of-plant equipment, including electrical distribution, battery energy storage systems, and emissions control. The second agreement secures 283 megawatts of Caterpillar power generation equipment to support an initial power ramp for a separate data center project. Additionally, Atlas has committed to 328 megawatts of generating capacity for delivery in 2027 under an existing Global Framework Agreement with Caterpillar Inc.
CEO John Turner stated that these agreements serve as a way to de-risk the supply chain and project timelines as the company works toward long-term power purchase agreements. Following the announcement, Atlas Energy Solutions shares saw significant intraday gains, rising as much as 19%.
