Atlas striker Luís Henriques de Barros Lopes, known as Duk, will be sidelined for approximately six to eight months following a severe knee injury. The 26-year-old Cape Verdean international suffered a patellar tendon rupture in his left knee during the 30th minute of a match against Pumas at Estadio Jalisco.
The injury occurred when his leg became caught in the turf while competing for a ball in the penalty area. Following medical evaluation, it was determined that Duk requires surgery and an extensive rehabilitation process to regain mobility and stability.
As a recent permanent signing from Spanish club Leganés, Duk was considered a key offensive reinforcement for manager Hernán Crespo. His absence will keep him out for the remainder of the Apertura 2026 tournament and likely a significant portion of the Clausura 2027 season.
