Atlassian unveils Agentic Multiplayer Protocol at Team '26 Europe
At the Team '26 Europe event in Amsterdam, Atlassian unveiled its Agentic Multiplayer Protocol (AMP), a framework designed to facilitate collaboration between humans and AI agents. Co-founder Mike Cannon-Brookes described the shift from single-player AI to a multiplayer model, positioning the Atlassian platform as a central nervous system for enterprise context.
The AMP aims to establish clear interaction modes within the user interface, distinguishing between human actions, agents with independent identities, agents acting on behalf of humans, and humans assisted by agents. To support this, Atlassian is enhancing its Teamwork Graph to provide the necessary context for effective AI integration.
In terms of governance, the company is focusing on agent accounts and non-human inventories to ensure users are aware of agent presence in their workspace. Additionally, Atlassian demonstrated human-AI interaction capabilities through Loom, allowing users to direct agents via natural language commands to edit videos and add graphics.
During the event, Dutch network provider VodafoneZiggo was recognized as the 2026 Atlassian Impact Maker, highlighting its successful rollout of Atlassian tools and a significant increase in active AI users.
