Atletico Madrid considers €25m permanent move for Jonathan David

Atletico Madrid is evaluating the option to sign Canadian striker Jonathan David on a permanent basis following his successful loan spell from Juventus. The club has reportedly allocated €25 million in next season’s budget to trigger the buy option agreed upon during the summer transfer window.

David has integrated quickly into Diego Simeone’s tactical system, recording three goals and two assists in five La Liga appearances. His performance has been a key factor in Atletico Madrid’s recent form, including a decisive victory in the September derby against Real Madrid.

While the €25 million clause is an option rather than an obligation, the player is reportedly favorable toward staying in Spain. Juventus, whose contract with David runs until 2030, is monitoring the situation as negotiations between the two clubs are expected to take place.
