Atletico Madrid players call for increased squad investment

Atletico Madrid is facing internal scrutiny regarding squad depth and investment following recent performances. A player from the squad expressed disappointment over the lack of new signings, noting that while the previous season provided a strong foundation, the team must evolve to remain competitive as opponents adapt to their style of play.

The player specifically highlighted a need for more investment from the technical director and club leadership, suggesting that changes should extend beyond just the coaching staff to include broader areas of the club's structure.

On the pitch, competition is intensifying in the midfield. American player Johnny Cardoso is showing improved form and physical resilience after a previous season hampered by injuries. Cardoso is currently competing for prominence alongside veteran captain Koke and new signing Hjulmand, as the team looks to maintain its dominance in possession and tactical control.
