Atlixco hosts workshop to support rights of agrarian women
The municipality of Atlixco, Puebla, served as the venue for the Workshop on Rights for Agrarian Women, an initiative provided by the Mexican government. The event focused on recognizing and exercising the rights of women working in the agricultural sector.
During the workshop, local officials emphasized that education, training, and access to social property are essential tools for strengthening female autonomy and community decision-making. This initiative aligns with the federal government's commitment to transforming the Mexican countryside.
Gerardo López Ramírez, representing the Secretariat of Agrarian, Territorial, and Urban Development (SEDATU), noted that more than 200 agrarian titles have already been delivered to female farmers in Atlixco through the Caravan for Women in Social Property.
