Spain and Mexico report various criminal and judicial developments

Various legal and criminal developments have been reported across Spain and Mexico. In Spain, the Guardia Civil is investigating a public service vehicle driver in Ibiza caught traveling at 182 km/h in an 80 km/h zone. In Las Palmas, a truck driver was intercepted after allegedly operating a heavy vehicle for five years despite having lost all his driving points.

In Mexico, legal proceedings continue regarding violence against journalists. An organization is demanding justice for the murder of Francisco Alejandro Leyva Aguilar in Oaxaca. In Sinaloa, José Luis “N” was linked to a process for allegedly threatening a journalist and offering money to a hitman.

Judicial rulings have also emerged: a court granted an amparo to the convicted feminicide of Mariela Saidí to review his sentence, and the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation granted an amparo to a man detained for possessing a threatening note, citing the ambiguity of the law. Additionally, businessman Pascual Llopis was released from prison pending trial in a money laundering investigation.
