Atlàntida Mallorca Film Fest sets attendance record

The 16th edition of the Atlàntida Mallorca Film Fest concluded its in-person events in Palma, setting a new attendance record with nearly 60,000 spectators. The festival, organized by Filmin, included musical performances and major film presentations, such as the Master of Cinema award presented to composer Alexandre Desplat.

Key award winners include Carlos Saiz's debut feature "Lionel" for Best Film, Bàrbara Farré's "Bad beast" for Best National Film, and Orlando von Einsiedel's "The cycle of love" for the Audience Award. Joan Porcel's "The Meat" received the Best Balearic Feature Film award.

While the physical festivities have ended, the festival continues in a hybrid format. The online programming remains available for viewing through the Filmin platform until August 24. Festival director Jaume Ripoll has provided specific recommendations for the online selection, including works in the Official Section, Trends, Reverse, Earth, and Politics categories, as well as retrospectives of Bertrand Mandico and Theo Angelopoulos.
