Real Madrid prepares for Villarreal clash amid injury concerns

Real Madrid is preparing to face Villarreal in LaLiga following the international break, amid significant squad concerns. The club is dealing with several injuries sustained during the break, most notably to Kylian Mbappé, who suffered a knee hyperextension, and defender Ibrahima Konaté, who sustained a ligament injury. While Mbappé's injury is not considered grave and he may still feature in the match, the defensive line remains depleted with Dean Huijsen suspended and Eder Militao sidelined.

Real Madrid currently sits in fourth place with 15 points, trailing leaders Barcelona. In contrast, Villarreal holds ninth place with 8 points but enters the match with momentum following two consecutive victories. The upcoming fixture at the Santiago Bernabéu is seen as a critical opportunity for Real Madrid to recover from recent derby losses and close the gap in the league standings.
