Atlético de Madrid honors World Cup champions during La Liga opener

Atlético de Madrid honored its players who won the recent World Cup with Spain during the club's La Liga season opener against Málaga at the Metropolitano Stadium.

The ceremony included a tribute to club icon David Villa, a 2010 World Cup winner, who brought the trophy to the center of the pitch. Following this, the club recognized four current players who contributed to Spain's championship: Pubill, Grimaldo, Llorente, and Alex Baena.

Spanish national team coach De la Fuente was also present in the stands to witness the celebration. The event highlighted the significant presence of international talent within the squad, noting that the club also maintains several players from the Argentine national team.
