Atlético-GO defeats Criciúma 4-0 to enter Série B G-6

Atlético-GO secured a decisive 4-0 victory against Criciúma at the Estádio Antônio Accioly in Goiânia during the 28th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro Série B. The win moves Atlético-GO into sixth place with 46 points, placing them within the G-6 zone and narrowing the gap with Criciúma, who remains in fifth with 47 points.

Gustavo Coutinho led the offensive performance with a hat-trick, scoring in the 40th and 51st minutes of the first half, and again in the 16th minute of the second half. Gustavo Maia added the fourth goal in the 11th minute of the second half. Geovany Soares played a pivotal role in the rout, providing four assists for all four goals scored by his teammates.

Following the match, Atlético-GO president Adson Batista praised Soares' performance, comparing his technical ability and speed to former player Michael. Criciúma coach Eduardo Baptista criticized his team's “irreconhecível” (unrecognizable) performance, noting that the heavy defeat increases the pressure for an immediate response in the competition.
